Centrifugal Spray Dryer for Alumina
Category: Chemical industry
QUANPIN centrifugal spray drying converts an alumina-bearing liquid feed into collected powder.
Case Details
Alumina Overview
Alumina is a hard, white, amphoteric oxide. Feed preparation and impurity control determine whether the material is suitable for atomization.
Uses
Applications include adsorbents, catalysts, abrasives, polishing materials and laboratory reagents.
Working Principle
Filtered, heated air enters through the tower distributor. A rotating atomizer forms droplets that dry in co-current flow; powder leaves through the tower base and cyclone, with exhaust removed by the fan.
Confirmed Technical Data and Operating Results
| Parameter / result | Confirmed value | Material / comparison basis |
|---|---|---|
| Alumina relative density | 4.0 | Material property; reference d20/4. |
| Alumina melting point | About 2000 °C | Material property, not dryer operating temperature. |
| Al₂O₃ content | >99% | Reference high-purity alumina composition, not a drying guarantee. |
Material and Process Review
Centrifugal spray drying disperses liquid feed through a rotating atomizer. Heated air removes moisture from the droplets, and collection equipment separates the resulting powder. Review spray drying equipment against representative powder drying trials and the product limits relevant to heat-sensitive material drying.
Provide feed composition, initial and final moisture, throughput, temperature limits, utilities and cleaning requirements so QUANPIN can define the project operating conditions.
