Product Line / Maltodextrin Production Line

Maltodextrin Production Line for Starch and Food Ingredient Processing
Prepare maltodextrin from refined starch through an enzyme-based process followed by purification, concentration and powder drying. Specify spray drying equipment around the actual feed and powder drying target; spray drying trials should establish the operating window before an industrial food dryer is selected.
Process Overview & Working Principle
A prepared starch slurry is gelatinized and liquefied to make the starch accessible to enzymes. The reaction is controlled for the target conversion, followed by the selected purification steps, evaporation and drying. Glucose production requires its own downstream crystallization and separation route.
Production Process Flow
- Prepare refined-starch slurry
- Gelatinize and liquefy
- Control enzyme conversion and inactivation
- Filter and purify
- Concentrate the solution
- Spray dry maltodextrin
- Cool and pack
Line Features
- Enzyme conversion is selected around the required product grade.
- Filtration and concentration are coordinated with the drying step.
- Maltodextrin and crystalline-glucose finishing routes are distinguished during project review.
Suitable Materials
- Refined corn, wheat or cassava starch for a specified maltodextrin grade.
- Review the formulation, moisture, temperature sensitivity and required final product condition before selecting the complete process.

Project Selection and Interfaces
Confirm starch source, target DE, feed solids and powder rate. Specify purification, enzyme handling, washing, heating utilities and the finished-product acceptance method.
Review compatible equipment in our product range and define the utility, cleaning, containment and control interfaces before the supply scope is agreed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is every line supplied with the same equipment?
No. QUANPIN defines the equipment sequence, supply boundary and controls around the selected feed, product targets and available utilities.
What information is required for a proposal?
How is the process confirmed?
Agree a representative material specification, capacity basis and acceptance procedure. Trials or supporting process data should establish the operating conditions and finished-product requirements.

Application Review: Starch and Food Ingredient Processing
Review the prepared liquid feed, solids concentration, thermal sensitivity and required powder properties. Define hygiene, collection and downstream packing interfaces for the actual food ingredient.
For food ingredients, review the Codex food hygiene and HACCP framework when defining hygienic handling.
For a food-processing application, consult FDA food manufacturing practices for the intended market.
For dried foods, the FDA water activity reference helps distinguish water activity from moisture content.
Review the actual powder characteristics using the HSE safe handling of combustible dusts.
For the heating-system review, consult the U.S. Department of Energy process heat overview.
